The Prompt Plate
For anyone writing along. Pick what you’d answer, and go write it.
Hover a well to read it. Click to open it. The randomizer picks for you.
Why this exists
These started as interview prompts from my ghostwriting days — questions I would ask someone to get them past the version of themselves they had already rehearsed. They work the same way when you turn them on yourself. If the page is blank, this is a good way to get out of writer’s block.
How to use it
Hover a well to read what is in it. Click to open it, and it marks itself used once you move on. Five categories, twenty questions each — filter to one if you already know the kind of thing you want. If you would rather not browse, take whatever the randomizer gives you.
How it works
A hundred wells, a hundred questions. Ten columns, ten rows, an orientation notch at A1 — the layout of an assay plate. Each pair of rows is one category, so the plate reads as five bands of twenty. Wells fill in as you use them, so the plate shows where you have been. That is kept in your browser and nowhere else.
